A DS Date For Your Diaries!

You’ll want to get this Dance Stables Sunday Session booked in…

On Sunday 17th June 2018, our DS Sunday Sessions will be taught by *drum roll please*......Jo Leahy!

Jo's desire to learn, alongside her fascination with different cultures, led her to train in many dance forms under Laines Theatre Arts, Brit School, Avant Garde, Dance2xs and Laban. Throughout her career, she’s worked and performed with the likes of Kerry Nicholls, Tom Dale, Alesandra Seutin - Vocab Dance Company, Keneish Dance, RedTape Dance Company, Tomos Young Dance Company, ElementArts, Dreckly Productions and Susan Sentler. Her own choreographic work has also been performed in professional theatres across London, but also further abroad with works performed in Malta and Texas USA.

With nine years of extensive choreographic and teaching experience, both nationally and internationally, Jo’s passion for guiding and inspiring fellow dancers is clear. Currently, she teaches company class and workshops for professionals and youth companies across the UK (details of where below). And as if that wasn't enough, Jo also recently launched her own professional venture ‘Jo Leahy Dance’, we definitely recommend checking it out!

So, with a repertoire as impressive as that, what can we expect from our sessions with Jo?

“A dynamic, contemporary influenced workshop will lead you through progressive exercises from the floor up to standing, with a focus on the use of expansive energy, rhythm, spirals and undulations. These exercises will challenge precision of technique and encourage your deeper understanding of how to use breath to aid fluidity and fullness in movement. You will have a chance for self-discovery through guided improvisation tasks that will encourage your honesty and integrity through your creative choices.”

Be warned, you will leave feeling fully worked both mentally and physically! Ready to work those brains and bodies?

ArtsDepot, 17th June 2018 - 1.30-3.00pm. £10.00 drop in.
